Johnny Thompson was born in Ft.Worth, Texas and raised in the South. His father was an avid Elvis fan and exposed Johnny to Elvis at an early age. Johnny grew up listening to Elvis and watching his movies. Having been from the South really adds a exciting and realistic authenticity to Johnny's recreation of Elvis on stage. He is first and foremost a fan of Elvis. Johnny grew up singing gospel music at church since a young child and was always told he sounded like Elvis by his mother. "She would tell me to try not to sound so much like Elvis when I was leading singing at Church. I told her, Mom, I'm just singing"! |
| Johnny studied acting for many years in high school and went to College in Kilgore, Texas, where he also was a Rangerette Manager for one year then, moved to Chicago. He became a Theater Major at College of Dupage in Glen Ellyn, IL. After college, Johnny was discovered by a modeling agent and was put in TV commercials and in catalogues and worked steadily as a male model and actor for many years. He worked with Claudia Schiffer, Halle Berry, Alan Thicke and James Belushi just to name a few. Halle Berry asked Johnny to move to Hollywood with her, but he decided to pursue his own path. Johnny has starred in the "Almost Elvis" and "The Men who would be King" documentaries and recently played Elvis in a TV series on Sci Fi Channel called " The Chronicle". Recently Johnny co-starred on "Get Golf" with John Ohurley ( J. Peterman on Seinfeld) on USA Network. In 2005 Johnny Hosted the 2005 MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet for TRL. He also appeared on "TRL,Viva La Bam, One Bad Trip, 24/7 and The Surreal Life". This Summer Johnny will appear on TV Land Myth and Legends: Elvis Presley and in the New 'Viva Las Vegas" Special Edition DVD being released by EPE. |

Johnny began his Elvis Impersonation career by working for a singing telegram agency in Chicago for several years. That lead to performing at House of Blues Chicago and for the Chicago Bulls. Eventually working with other impersonators and bands has lead Johnny to be one of the Premiere Elvis Tribute Artist in the World Today! He is considered by his peers to have the great moves and strong looks. Johnny holds Black Belts in four martial arts , two are 3rd Degree. In 1997 Johnny was nominated into the Martial arts Hall of Fame by Grandmaster John Pelligrini. Johnny has won many national and local Elvis competitions winning against many veteran Elvis performers. He has the whole package. Johnny is in high demand all over the world starring in shows for the NBA, NFL and Minor and Major League Baseball teams, Resorts and Casinos, as well as TV, tradeshows, corporate events and conventions. Over the past couple of years Johnny has performed in Japan, China, Bolivia, Cancun Mexico, Dominican Republic, Canada, France, Finland, Belgium, Vietnam and all over the US. In August of 2007, Johnny won the "Images of the King World Championship Contest" held in Memphis, TN. Johnny latest project has him starring in Carrie Underwood's new music video "Last Name" coming out in 2008. |
